A word to my New friends...

welcome to my adventure, stranger
come play with me, or lay with me, or while away a day with me
I’ll lure you in with toothy grins, and wicked gleams,
and blatant disregard
for your disinterest in danger
Let me sew new feathers to those wings they clipped for you
as I reconnect the pieces
that you never knew were gone
my stitch is rough and ready, but the seams are straight and true
for your wings were made to lift you
where your imagination only flew
Your chains of limitation
are a feeble fabrication
Each link a fear made out of love
And bound to you with good intention
By the ones who hold you dear
and hold you back
and hold you here
I refuse to settle for your vision of enough
So hold your tongue, and loose your voice
Release your hold to free your hands
Quit standing your ground, to take those steps
I’m here to guide you, lead you, chide you
For I see the you that you could be
an endless, ever changing, dream of possibility
Abandon your resistance, oh yee that want my time
For if you will not reach to seek, to find
I’ll drag you, kicking, screaming to the mirrored edge of your consent
Demand you flirt with your reflection
Offer shadow genuflection
and dance together on the precipice of maybe
Until you leap to catch your yes
